A U.S. manufacturer Dog-E-Glow has launched a series of LED dog leashes and collars to keep pets safe during walks at night. Good creative idea, but the prices of this company’s LED dog leashes and dog collars are not cheap. If you are tough, you can Do It Yourself.
The company claims the leashes are visible at a range of 304.8 meters (1,000 feet), which could help prevent road accidents as drivers and motorists will be able to see the glowing animal from afar.In addition, the weather resistant leash uses LEDs with 100,000 hours lifetime, and a battery with 150 hour life. These dogs below party hard after a week of hard work in the office.

How to DIY LED dog leashes & Collars
The easiest way
All you need is a LED Strip, a dc 5v battery.
e.g.
- One 500cm LED strip, cut it into two, one 50cm strip for making the dog collar, and the other 450cm strip for the dog leash.
- Wear your dog with the collar, and twine the 450CM LED strip with the existed leash.
- Why twining, can’t the LED strips be used as leashes directly? Because these LED strips may not as strong as your dogs.(Maybe it’s ok with a tiny cute Pekingese, not never try it on a large-sized dog, e.g. a husky dog.)
- As where to place the battery, either bound it on your dog body or hold in your hand, just place it near either end of the LED strip. All done, walk your dog out at night and check it.
